We are team 1108! We are here to make an impact on our community and spread positivity and creativity to others. We work to spread the ideas of FIRST. FIRST is an organization that is For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST’s goal is to spread awareness of STEAM and STEAM fields by inspiring the youth to learn and use STEAM from kindergarten to high school. There are different programs in place by FIRST that consists of FLL (First Lego League), FTC (First Tech Challenge), and FRC (First Robotics Competition). Team 1108 participates in events around and outside our community, some yearly and others more frequently. We work year-round fundraising and participating in community events. We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to the challenges we face during the build season. We also pride ourselves on how far our team has grown since we were founded back in 2003 with a grant from NASA. We appreciate all the support we get from our community and sponsors to help our team grow and to be able to compete in FIRST competitions yearly! We also appreciate the support from our home district of Paola for allowing us to have a workshop to hold meetings, work on community projects, and build robots! We will work together to continue growing as a team and help our community and others to the best of our ability. We are team 1108!
